Based. The first one just has a certain tone to it that isn't captured as well in the sequels. It's also the one that can stand on its own the most, which is why I always come back to it. And it doesn't go over the top with the action and story, which is what set it apart from all the other generic action flics of the time. Soundtrack is badass too.

Yeah I think the problem with the sequels is because John isn't really angry through most of it. He is just doing it for obligations and not out of anger like the first. So I hope part 4 he is angry again.
