yes its awful, especially since auto-battling in Area Zero would be amazing for EV training due to all the 3IVs in dense numbers. Breeding is still required for Egg moves and to get old Regional Variants (once Home opens up). This means that if you want Shinies with egg moves, shinies of Regional variants, or if you want a specific shiny without waiting for an Outbreak (complete gamble if you ever get one lmao), youre basically fucked due to how long it takes with eggs without anything like the Egg Hatching box in Gen 7 or the perfect circle at the Battle Resort in Gen 6 that makes things easier
