New Pokémon Snap is the most soulful Pokémon game on the Switch. Carefully polished to the highest degree.

Pokemon Snap was cool, but the gameplay will never be as fun as mainline Pokemon. Even with all the graphical and performance issues of SV, it's fun. It doesn't matter what way you try to spin it, people have a blast playing mainline Pokemon games.
