No one sees 8 gyms and an elite 4 and thinks "Wow, that's just like Kanto" because those are just common-sense elements standard across the Pokemon world, like governments. What's the in-lore explanation for making things that specifically cater to nostalgia buttons like a Snorlax on a bridge that only a flute can move, forests around the world that are somehow identical, and somehow only Kanto pokemon having the ability to go to brand new regions and instantly get new forms every second? These aren't naturally imaginable and break the immersion of a vast, rich Pokemon World and only climb the nostalgia ladder.

Lance gets shit on for not having Tyranitar all the time (though ironically Lance is a Gen1 Character so him having the Gen 1 psuedo instead of the Gen2 psuedo makes sense in a way, there an argument that he could have had one of his Dragonites replaced with Tyranitar but that's beside the point).
