Mascots and Kanto

No.52255928 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Why is it an issue for a franchise to have mascots that it features more prominently than other characters? That's normal.
Similarly, why is it an issue to reference a franchise's best commercial and critical success? It is an objective fact that the most critically acclaimed Pokemon ever was just happened to be at its launch, with Kanto, and it's also its best selling region. And, purely coincidentally, the second time Pokemon got a boom was with Pokemon GO, a game at the time only featuring Kantomons. It only makes sense for a franchise and its celebrate its peaks.

>but other regions and pokemon shouldn't be neglected
True, and they aren't. They just get less focus than the mascots and the heights of the franchise. Bar one example, the mascots and Kanto are never the only benefactors of anything, they just get more, as one would expect them to. That one example mentioned earlier was regional variants in Gen 7, but it's long been rectified.
