You can go anywhere you want, but all battles and encounters are not adjusted to your current experience so you can easily get into a battle with opponents grossly overpowered than you. The whole open world is generated all at once instead of in parts so you're crippled by the amount of lag that open world has to offer.

The mounts are ridiculous and stupid. I hate how they're made to be motorcycle-like, but alive at the same time. Not to mention their "wheels" are just aesthetic and have no function beyond awkward as fuck. I'd prefer Sun and Moon's Pokemon rides over this.

Craftable TMs are nice, and I hate HMs with a passion so all of that is gravy. Yet, this game is still garbage as fuck and I'm glad I used an emulator over spending real money on it. Just can't trust GameFreak to make quality anymore. Hopefully, this becomes a learning experience they can grow from, but most likely they'll keep making stupid shit.

It's kinda shitty to have a battle end only to immediately get into another battle because something decided to run right inside of you and wait. Not even going into the herds of five and how they can just marathon themselves into you. Charge right into your body, stand there, initiate battle, and you can either kill it or run, but by then the others are already inside of you.

Pokemon trainer battles are an integral part of pokemon. Thr mass amount of trainer battles was representative of how widespread wanting to be the best was. You had everyone from everywhere training their pokemon to hopefully become a champion. I haven't played SV but in SS, there wasn't a feeling of random people training to become champions the few battles they had made the game feel lifeless and dead, coupled with soulless routes and its ultimately just a shit game and is most of the reason why I won't buy SV either.

Pokemon is just too easy and every generation it gets easier and easier.

>forced xp share
>fewer trainers
>fewer pokemon per trainers
>healing before and after important fights
>xp rubberbanding
>no hms
>no hidden secrets
>no puzzles

The game is just completely soulless from anything remotely challenging. How cool would it be if there was another regi type puzzle where you needed an OT shiny pokemon and pokerus to get it. That would really make the community spin on its head looking for all sorts of techniques to get that legendary.

Yet no. We get legendary that hop into your pokeball, "rivals" that heal you, an elite 4 of weak trainers you've stomped all game (and free heals between each fight) and an evil team that's main evil theme is that they cheer too loud.

Seriously. You can't be content with this unless you're just a lazy video game player who hates critical thinking

to introduce farming, in all the other games you don't ever go back to fight the lvl 2 rattatas or whatever at the first town so they thought of making things complicated so you should go back and kill 20 of them to craft something or sell some materials for some quick cash

Yes it is. Look at runescape skillcapes. They were the ultimate sign of a skillful player yet most were obtained by purely grinding. In rs3 where everybody got a skill cape for simply playing the game they meant nothing
