Hop was obsessed with being just like his "unbeatable" older brother, so every time you whooped his ass he just got depressed and became a fucking downer. Also he shows up too much and carries himself like a complete fucking loser.
Hau literally couldn't take ANYTHING seriously. Alola is this close to being destroyed and he's still doing his happy go lucky shtick, and THAT's what made him annyoing. Realistically, he shouldn't able to complete the island trials with how nonchalant he was about everything around him.
Nemona is just a battle junkie that's addicted to battling anyone that's strong. Whether that be the PC or wild Pokemon. She gets increasingly more excited as you progress because the game heavily implies that nobody in Paldea in on her level, and that's boring for her. So what people call "yandere" are really just her high hopes for the PC. She never really overstays her welcome like Hau/Hop did, and her boundless enthusiasm and limitless optimism was so infectious that I smiled every time she appeared.
Unlike Hau, she actually has a passion and drive for something. And unlike Hop, she's never a debbie downer or sore loser when you beat her. As a matter of fact, she's happier than anything because she wants battles with people that actually CAN beat her. And that's what makes her so much better than both Hau and Hop. Nemona being attractive is really just icing on the cake.
