Fans are mostly edgy children and will never properly recreate the magic that is experiencing a new generation made by the geniuses at GameFreak. They might be able to cobble together something like Radical Red which is a series of entertaining, puzzle-like battles but never something with a story that has real soul.
Also pirating the games is bad for the companies that make them, unless you already own a copy.
