If you draw it in the same watercolor style it's literally a gen 1 design. You're getting carried away by the way it's drawn (which also makes gen 1 mons look really different sometimes) and not the actual design.

I love how people complain about the humanization of Pokemon in later gens. What the fuck were Alakazam, Jinx, Mr. Mime, Electabuzz, Hitmonlee/Hitmonchan, Hypno? Pokemon has always had dogshit designs from each gen, along with good designs.
