What do you think of Smogon, /vp/?

I like playing competitively but I find some of their rules to be simply taken out of their asses.

Also, why tf TPC shuts down YouTubers who put anime scene but lets it slide with pokemon showdown?

Simulators dont infringe copyright laws.

Copyright law in the United States is pretty straightforward in most cases. If someone makes a creative work (including artwork, photos, etc.) then others are not permitted to copy it without permission. If you copy it without permission, then you are in violation of their copyright--with a couple of limited exceptions, collectively referred to as "Fair Use," that will in most cases not apply to Simulators

Technically they do because they use Pokemon's official models and sprites.
If Omgon wasn't to stay copyright free, they need to use fanart and custom sprites
