The FIP drug was being tested, and got cancelled due to WuFlu pandemic crap taking priority. The company shelved it. Now they’re actually testing it again for FDA approval and say its use in cats is informative for Covid in human children.
The drug is already approved and being used in Australia, China, and some other places. The United States takes way longer and has higher standards (and more red tape and shit) than most countries. Drugs for cats is low priority to them. I got mine by importing them from overseas where they’re approved and had to administer it myself under vet supervision. They can legally treat the animal and monitor him like usual, they just cannot actually administer the drug themselves or they risk their license. I saw 7 veterinarians during this process, 6 of them at a major university hospital, and all but one was familiar with the drug and helped us though it.
