Am I really expected to believe that Director Clavell and Clive are actually the same person? There is absolutely ZERO build up or foreshadowing to this in the entire team star plot line

I think Game Freak realized late in development that they couldn't have such an awesome, badass looking character like Clive influencing children. So they threw in a last minute twist to link him to the 2nd dorkiest character in the game.
