Please guys, this is a 100 billion dollar franchise... it's ridiculous that we don't have cutting edge graphics and perfect performance on a handheld cartridge. Please, let me compare games that have issues and are extremely simple and hold them up as a work of art when they're 8/10 at best.

Pokémon games have always looked like shit. RBY wad underwhelming compared to Link's Awakening, RSE was on the same platform as Megaman Zero, the DS games look terrible with the forced 3D trash, and XY/ORAS/USUM look worse than Yo Kai.

Even on GBA the graphics in pokemom were slightly behind (look at shit like Golden Sun) and 3D pokemon titles have repeately been kinda jank, we got about what to expect, and honestly the reactions have been kinda overblown - what's to be so mad about? Some funny glitches that may have been forced or caused by emulation or going online?

It's a pretty fun gane and a good direction for pokemon, but I agree its not worth 60 dollar. Just emulate it, switch clearly can't handle it anyway

Besides if this was shit like...god what was it? There was one pokemon game that had a nasty glitch that would just nuke your fucking save file on release, was it XY? Then being angry was reasonable. But people got way too angru and nuked the game on metacritic when it's perfectly playable from start to finish, doesn't have game breaking issues and only has some jank on top of what is an actually pretty fun pokemon game.

Doom is an extreme example, lot of games on switch that look worse than Doom but a whole lot better than Pokémon run on the Switch with very little performance issues

N64 backgrounds and terrible performance are on GF

I think the 3DS ones look fairly comparable to their competition, but they suffer from lots of lag especially when Gen 7 added the trainer models to the battles.

Pokemon Dash came out the same year as Mario 64DS and looked like shit. The next offering was DP in 2006 two years later. BW2 were from 2012 and arguably worse graphically than HGSS from 2009. Game Freak is consistent in one thing: being inconsistent. They have a successful Pokemania campaign from 1998 and millennials desperately trying to reclaim a shred of happiness they had in childhood before everything went online to thank for not going under like any other company with this wild of quality variation would have by now.

A game should be playable; not annoying to catch up with its actually framerate, the sight in which you actually control the game with. That including the number of glitches like displaying on the map the spawning of a horde of haunters and not actually show any haunters when i fucking get there. that's annoying. why would i wanna shiny hunt early, fully accepting the handicap of no extra rolls, when it makes completely impossible to do that anyways.

Don't justify this bs with blind respect, all their other games work, it was only swsh that you started to notice the bad processing of the hardware. heck even the 3ds xl showed their reduction in hardware. i don't applaud this whatsoever, definitely is a 5/10 game.

Mediocre hardware is what nintendo was trying to stray away from. it upgraded from WiiU to Switch, Perfect. 5 years later it needs to be able to host its software. nobody liked the shitty emulators in the free software from the switch virtual console, they should really get their priorities straight and trouble shoot and upgrade as much as possible to compete with the *cough cough* Other two Tyrants of the console wars. i suppose their trying also trying to compete with too many franchises at the same time also, a.k.a Disney, Warner Bros, Sony, and Microsoft. The priority should be video games. and pokemon is already a Breadwinner for nintendo. Stick with Keeping Pokémon Strong. in my opinion
