which QoL improvements are we talking about? is it removing BP and locking held items behind enormous sums of money that is much harder to grind? oh wait wait maybe you're talking about making TMs consumable again. Or maybe you're referring to making box icons load god awfully slow so you can't quickly skim your boxes to find what you need anymore? Perhaps you're referring to the removal of Pokérus making EV training even slower again. Please specify.

Pokemon have been an afterthought forever. Tajiri said they're just pets, and since Gamefreak is aversive to change, the writers were in a corner from the beginning. That's why Pokemon get next to no focus in any mainline story. All you're allowed to say about them is "haha funny pet".

You're one of the only people I've seen mention that atrocious box icon speed. It is so annoying.
Pokerus, wild hold items, and overworld abilities being removed sucks so damn much. (although Magma Armor/Flame Body still seem to work for eggs thankfully)

It really makes no sense. The menus in general feel slightly too slow and worse. You don't get a "page down" function for the ridiculous amount of items in your bag.

That game was mostly just adding extra content to the region.

When Masuda was busy making Let's Piss, Ohmori was left alone in charge of SM without supervision from Masuda.
There's a reason SM is superior to USUM and has a good story with more character focus.
Yeah, the gameplay takes a backseat for the most part, but when it came out /vp/ was head over heels for the game.

And I want the MC to remain silent. This is an RPG, it's a game where I can autistically pretend the trainer is actually me doing all those amazing things, this isn't a VN or some shit like Danganronpa, the MC having their own thoughts and personality would mean they're their own character and not me, which would completely ruin the immersion. I'm more than happy with all the facial expressions and movements this time around, that's more than enough.
