>>52296427You're correct to doubt them because they're bullshit that's either been disproven by followup studies or is funded by vegan lobbyist groups.
You'll notice that all it says is that processed meats are proven to cause cancer, with literally everything else being
>weeeeeell, it might cause cancer, maybe, and we really hope it does because we want you to stop eating animalswhile ignoring all the studies showing the opposite.
Processed meats cause cancer because of the substances used to preserve them, not because of the meat itself. An honest person would tell you that sodium nitrite causes cancer, rather than pointing at a food containing added nitrites and suggesting that the food itself is the cause, rather than the carcinogenic chemical added to it. Also,
>the World Health Organization (WHO) advises that each 50 g (1.8 oz) of "processed meats" eaten a day would raise the risk of getting bowel cancer by 18% over a lifetime.>1 in 15 men and 1 in 18 women will be diagnosed with bowel cancer during their lifetime.Eating a serving of bacon every day for your entire life would raise your risk of bowel cancer from 6.6% (average risk for men) to 7.78% (an 18% increase). This is what they're trying to scare you with: a daily serving of a proven carcinogen increases your cancer risk by slightly more than one percent.
