I went into the game and was completely confused by this. The little one is like a little alien and then suddenly turns into a fucking ostrich that sort of looks like cleopatra. This was definitely one of those designs that were made while the artists were high off their asses.

It takes elements from Machoke during the trade evolution. Machamp also gets elements from Graveler which is where the extra arms come from.

But you don't need to trade Machoke and Graveler with each other to evolve.
If I trade my Haunter with a Machoke it still evolves into a Machamp and the same can be said for Graveler and Kadabra.

My gripe is that a bird that big and sanic fast on the overworld looks like it should have a higher attack stat than it actually does and probably some kicking moves to boot. Gave me a start the first time the thing charged.
