I only ever bothered in LGPE and Arceus due to increased rates and it wasn't that bad at all. I can't imagine hunting for shiny starters and such though.

I can’t imagine shiny hunting and spending all that time for a Pokémon that barely looks any different shiny like Zapdos. I want a shiny pig because Emboar has one of the best shinies.

I usually only hunt in games that let me chain, and even then it's something to keep me focused on something else to help with ADHD. Masuda Method and anything full odds is actual torture.

Moderation, if you do it for maybe an hour a day 5 days a week you’ll avoid burn out.
Some people are fucking nuts though, NEETs who hunt 12 hours in a row.
Always make sure you have external stimulus while hunting
YouTube, Movies, Podcasts etc
