>>52300641You can, but you don't always know somebody with the game. Part of the experience of Gen 6 is opening the game and seeing people on the PSS on the bottom screen, it's front and center. You can play with people locally on every Pokemon game, but often times online provides an different or easier experience. To put it another way, who do you know who still plays the game?

I can't say it wasn't a good time, and the memories you made there are possibly more important than anything else about the game, since it was just a conduit for human interacting. However, when you're long gone and the memories of you have faded from existence, all we'll be left with is XY. Honestly, being XY isn't the worst thing, DP has a similar story for being beloved for the online in the moment and that game has some serious issues in almost every aspect. At least XY is just kinda boring most of the time, and like somebody (possibly you) said earlier mods can attempt to remedy that.
