>>52302303IF YOU IGNORE THE BUGS AND PERFORMANCE ISSUES (which is a big one, but the bugs can maybe sorta be fixed, so maybe its a somewhat temporary problem), it's miles better than SwSh and XY, better than SM/USUM, in some ways better than BW.
Unlike PLA, which was fun until you beat dialga/palkia, it doesn't become a complete boring drag as you approach the end, unlike SwSh and XY, the game doesn't hit a point where the pacing of the story just fucking speedruns to the end because they ran out of time, unlike BW and SM you aren't constantly interrupted and can have lots of uninterrupted gameplay, and while obviously it depends on how much you grind, there is actually some semblance of difficulty, even despite the fact that they didn't include Set mode for some godforsaken reason. My in game team was fully EV trained with perfect IV's and egg moves (because they make this shit dirt simple now, breeding may as well not exist), and I still had to actually use items and think about my switches against some of the later trainers.
Way moreso than the performance though, I need them to fix the fucking camera clipping into the ground all the time, I knew this would be an issue when we moved away from seperate, controlled, flat zones for battles, and actually have pokemon scale properly in battle (and have a camera that focuses on the battle and not the trainer unlike PLA), but it's really fucked up and distracting and kills immersion.
I genuinely hope patches fix this because there's unironically "one of the good ones" buried within the technical issues, is it gen 3-4 good? hell no, but I would rather replay this than any of the 3DS or Switch games, even if the awful performance stays awful.
