I remember liking PLA but after buying it on the switch and playing through it a second time it just felt really dry. It's still very novel, but the cutscenes and the lack of actual battling outside of the very end of the game made it a real slog.

No because it completely destroys the core combat of Pokemon and thus has no multiplayer features at all.

The "serial capturist" style of gameplay from Go, Lets Go and PLA is also really cringe.

Tap the right trigger is pretty bad, probably worse that tap right bumper and do 3 fights.
Either of those are worse than any of the actual games in Gen 1-8.
