Ultimately, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are comprehensive technical failures.
Embarrassing artwork, terrible draw distance, poor performance, mediocre image quality, and a litany of bugs plague this pair of very troubled games.
Pokémon fans deserve better.

Cyberpunk is still better than anything GF has shit out in recent years. Heck, I enjoyed the game more than BotW and the Internet wouldn't stop shilling that game as "the best open world of all time." Nintendo has fallen and tendies have too low standards to even care or notice.

At least Cyberpunk got eventually patched to a playable state, for Gamefreak is back to pokemon gulag to shit out next game by the end of 2023 so SV will be dogshit forever.

I played Sonic Frontiers a here and there in the week running up to SV release. It really doesn't seem that bad in comparison. One interesting factor is that the concept artwork and graphic design is highly on point. All of the in-game branding, the posters, the billboards, the illustrations expanding on lore etc is all of high quality. They clearly have a talented art department but there's a severe deficiency when it comes to translating this into gameplay assets ie environments / 3D models etc. All of this said, the glitches haven't hampered my gameplay experience, but I agree we shouldn't be settling for less when more is possible and realistically achievable with sufficient time and resources.

Agree and disagree, performance issues aside, I am enjoying the experience– but this doesn't mean it shouldn't be better. I'm a diehard fan who has played religiously from the beginning – I'll always enjoy pokemon gameplay –but I want a high quality release for new players who don't have the same passion for the series as I do.
Will we ever get a title on switch that hits gen4/5 levels of cohesive execution?
