It looks like a Dragon Quest enemy more than a Pokemon. I feel the same about the Greavard line, but I like that one so its okay.

Same. People see it as cliche but you can do plenty of cool things with it. The example i posted is pretty neat(its based on Errol from Discworld). Scovillian is what I'd call an example of sloppy execution.
