Went through the whole thing and I can count the actual good designs with two hands; the best I can say about it as a whole is that there aren't any particularly atrocious designs, just a lot of predictable ones or lines that kind of just blur together. Has that weird issue a lot of modern dexes have where there's no consistent style or at least "feel" (I could grab a handful of these, throw them into any other fan dex, and it would be virtually impossible to tell them apart), it draws a lot from the modern pokemon approach of plastic-like creatures with big heads. Color palettes and color schemes remain almost exactly the same throughout multiple stages (except on lines based around the color scheme being inverted, like red becoming blue), using regional variants as a clutch to safely work a gimmick into an already existing design, which is always easier than building from zero (just a heads up but the dia de los muertos roselia/roserade are mediocre at best; it's gimmick you like to see in a design you're already familiar with, so it tricks you into thinking the actual result is better than it really is). Granted modern official pokemon dexes leave A LOT to be desired nowadays and I've always been a firm believer that fakemon designers have nothing to envy from the pokemon team (other than maybe their resources), but I don't think THIS is the dex that deserves the high praise it's getting.
Not saying it can't be a mere coincidence that all of you really like it that much, but considering how much more critical /vp/ usually is towards fan dexes, it sure feels weird that this one that isn't particularly amazing is getting so many "mogs X out of the water" and "it's perfect" posts. Feel free to tell me how I am wrong, I guess.
