If it was anything like Area Zero, yes. It skyrocketed S/V to a 8/10 for me.

S/V was the first and only time GF got this shit right. I can only assume it was a mistake because for games like X/Y and BW1 it was fucking terrible

Pokemon already is about building a party, and the Pokemon are way better than the human characters because they dont freeze you in place, slowly walk up to you, give you 3-4 unskippable dialogue boxes, drag you slowly to a location, spout a tutorial, make you fight 1 level 10 bird, compliment you for landing a crit, and then repeat that every 5 minutes.

Some of my favorite Pokemon games are the GameCube games because I love the idea of a game balanced around doubles.

If they made a game with an emphasis on a party of trainers, I'd like to see it as something where you can catch whatever you want with your allies having set teams that only get changed by story progression.

Do you mean extremely linear?

Because as much as I liked the first trip into Area Zero, that segment was a linear walk to the bottom.
