So why is it that they all suck Competitively except for Zacian, Magearna, and Mega Mawile?

there's no such thing as a "broken type". Type by itself is almost completely irrelevant for determining how viable a Pokemon is.

Isn't that the point? Steel/Fairy is probably the best typing possible so its balanced by giving Pokemon with that type stats that are hot ass.

Because typing alone doesn't make a Pokemon viable. Stats, abilities, and movepools are all important as well.
