Area Zero is so good, that it surpasses the Gym & Elite Four formula of the series. It even outdoes the open world aspect of Scarlet/Violet.

The height of the series is now the characterization, banter, music and final boss of this area. The rest is now irrelevant.

Pokémon has to be an RPG to move forward, not a franchise.

I got annoyed with the banter when I was waiting to open my menu to switch my Pokemon so I could catch an Iron Jugulis and they talked for almost 2 minutes straight. So fucking annoying.

Area lag is good? Weird because walking the entire path without the ridemon while seeing the same 5 different spawned pokemon and lagging wasn't "good". It was boring.

There's nuance in what they mean. Pokemon has always followed the same exact formula, deviating slightly depending on whatever the evil teams motivations are. SV is the first Pokemon game that has a more meaningful story that doesn't end at beating the E4. At this point they have 2 choices: continue that path or go back to being the same thing every 3 years.

Fuck that. I want a Pokemon game that's more like a Sandbox like BotW or GTA. Imagine just having an open world where you catch Pokemon with very minimal story getting in the way. It would be the ideal Pokemon game
