>>52371736Just completed Scarlet today and wanted to give my opinions.
First of all, I'm not a shill. I didn't, and I still haven't bought, Sw/Sh. Just wanted to clarify that because I'm sure somebody will tell me I'm one...
I was really surprised by this game. It's definitely better than I expected. There's a ton of people talking about the bugs, but to be honest the only weird thing I've seen is that the lightning glitches out sometimes, but apart from that, I haven't noticed anything. The framerate, though, is atrocious. It's sometimes OK, but seriously, this game is poorly optimized.
But, ignoring the framerate issues, I really enjoyed the game. It's fun. The story is decent, the gameplay is decent, etc. Difficulty-wise, it's a Pokémon game. The badges control your leveling so if you go overboard your Pokémon won't obey you, or so I think (I've gone 1 level above the cap once but my Pokémon still obeyed me, so I can't tell if this is how it's supposed to work or not). Overleveling is very easy if you're not paying attention, however. Especially if you only use six Pokémon, like I have. I guess what you're supposed to do is to do one half of the region, and then when doing the other half, you get another team? Idk, I was hopping around the region following picrel.
The new Pokémon's desings are also great. Having seen the trailers, I wasn't looking forward to them because I really disliked or even hated the new desings they showcased (Celuredge and Armarouge come to mind, they're my new least favourite Pokémon). But actually playing the game, the new desings are great. Lokix is my favourite out of the new ones.
Graphics-wise, it's OK. To me, it looks better than PLA, but it could be better. Let's Go is still the best-looking Pokémon game on the Switch (at least from what I've seen, I haven't actually played it).
Overall, I'd say it's a 7/10. I know this phrase gets memed a lot now, but it's definitely "a step in the right direction".
