Depending on how smart you interpret Pokemon to be the reasons for such could be diverse: Could be drawn to obscured things like aura quality or spiritual presence, could be a simple physical preference like hair or eyes, or it could even stem from something like sapiosexuality or attraction to power.
Should you have sex with a Pokemon? If you can communicate, they're an adult, and they agree, I don't see why not, even if I think it's disgusting.
