I've yet to find a single proof that the Battle Frontier AI has skewed RNG or anything like that.

I've seen a battle where Rhydon crits Latios with Megahorn. Latios dies. Then he sends Metagross which misses his Meteor Mash and gets killed by Horn Drill. And then he sends Slaking and Slaking gets killed by a Quick claw Horn Drill. 100% cheats

Build your team in a way that minimizes your chances of getting screwed by the RNG.
Carry a softboiled/aromatherapy Blissey with you into the Pike and Pyramid.
For the Tower I went with Latios/Metagross/Slaking. Werster recommends Calm Mind on his Latios but I got more results with Surf.
Palace is a dogshit facility. I took some weird team off Smogon with Suicune, Venusaur, and Magneton.
Dome is easy. Arena is less easy.
Factory is pure RNG.

Battle frontier doesn't outright cheat, but the odds are stacked in it's favor.
You need to win dozens of times in a row to get the gold symbol, but they only need to win once to send you back to the start.
This wouldn't be nearly as bad if they didn't rely on high variance high bullshit strategies, but none of them are things the player couldn't do.

Factory may be RNG, but it's RNG that tests your ability to adapt, ie. the good kind of RNG.
Someone with a good grasp of battling does far better there than someone that doesn't, obviously.

It's mainly just nostalgia, Gen 3 fans rule the internet right now. AI-simulated "PvP" just isn't fun, regardless of the game, it gets old quick. And in fairness, the BF has very good presentation + a couple of fun modes like Factory or Pyramid which helps it stand out from something like the Maison or Subway.

It's really fucking cheese. My recorded battle is where I switch to slaking, and walrein ohkos me with fissure. Then I go to a latios, but it has a quick claw and ohkos me again with sheer cold. Then metagross, my last, another quick claw and ohko with sheer cold. 30% x 20% x 30% x 20% x 30% = 0.1% chance of happening.

Even if you still want to die on this "akshually, it's statistically possible for those scenarios to happen!" hill, the AI also has access to Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres with 510 EVs at Lv50 in Gen 3 which is physically impossible.
