Don't expect some Southern Kalos equal in size to the original. At most we get like a Marseilles city and that will probably be it. The rest will just be a mass of mountains like what they showed with the cliffs. The territory at the southwest corner of the landmass there matches up with the southwest of Kalos, the part that isn't actually accessible in game with that little river there.
So you get an elongated Kalos to fit the scale of Paldea, no "Southern Kalos". Don't assume that they'll hold the same scale from generation to generation, and that whatever is blacked out equates to a new region and that every square inch of the Pokemon world is covered by a region and butted up against each other. Don't even expect them to put Kalos in, I sure don't, this is just an example of how I think they would do it.
