>>52415940I think you're over thinking this a tad bit. Pokémon is a power fantasy which is built upon Tajiri's childhood. The series doesn't ask those questions because it doesn't need to, it's a world of humanity co-existing with the natural world although with the scales certainly favoring humanity, see for example Galarian Wheezing eating away pollution, nature bending the knee to humanity, or even Cyclizar's and Corviknight's acting as modes of transportation
The series builds Pokémon as innocent, kind and friendly creatures. It aims to capture the excitement of exploring nature and interacting with these creatures that reside in it, I think SV did a great job in this regard, there's something calm about exploring the world and seeing Pokémon inhabit it and seeing Pokémon families is always pleasant. Most Pokémon act friendly and will approach the player and those that chase the player do so at a non-threating way. You can even take selfies with them.
This construction plays a major deal as

Verily indeed in SV Paradox Pokémon acting very aggressive is what causes the team in area zero to think of them as *monsters* and not Pokémon. A plot point with the AI is about protecting nature by not allowing paradox Pokémon to escape and ruin Paldea local ecosystems. We must remember that first and foremost Pokémon is a series for children about an idealized magical childhood experience.
