School in the pokemon world seems to be intentionally extremely casual and completely optional, which explains why in previous games the MC doesn't have school but trainer schools still exist.
I guess the idea is old people/adults at the academy in SV are just people who never wanted to go to school as kids, sorta like a community college deal but including younger kids.

What's the deal with these sections where you just throw a ball and your pokemon just kills like 3 or 4 other mons without doing anything or taking any damage?

Why is there a time limit?
Why is the enemy base so big when you can easily kill enough right next to the gate to meet requirements?
