Pretty sure you can relearn their moves instantly after you evolve them cause of how remembering moves works in this game. Evolving should give full access to the move pool.

what did you guys think about Area Zero? I think it was a lot better on Scarlet with the past pokemon cause of it's untouched nature look. Wish they could've maybe made the scientist in Violet make the landscape deeper in the crater look more futuristic and covered in more tech to go with the robots

Yeah nah they fucked up a lot of sizes.

Avalugg they decided to treat its measurement as length instead of height, so its WAY the fuck smaller than it should be. Wulfric's reference art proves this pretty decisively.

And then there's odd inconsistencies, like Roaring Moon being measured length wise, but Salamence height wise. Not to mention compared to other games, where things like Tauros are way smaller than how they appeared in SM as ride mons, but thats a whole other bag of worms.

I had no idea the outfits were school uniforms only, so I was legitimately surprised to find it out part way through.

As to why they decided to go with the shittiest school uniform ever and completely forego skirts, your guess is as good as mine. Pre-release my guess was that they wanted to encourage experimenting with non-default options by making the default unpleasant, but here we are.
My next guess is that they're witholding good clothes to seel them as an amazing DLC feature.

However this is all assuming the usual random shitty Nintendo/Game Freak design choices do have a logic behind them.

Maybe if it ran well I'd be willing to call it an improvement over SWSH, but the open world compromises every other aspect of the game to the point that it hardly feels worth it.

Ummm achtually, he's correct for Gen 2 specifically. The way shininess was determined in Gen 2 was directly related to IVs, which meant that if you bred using a shiny, you had a considerably higher chance of the child being a shiny.

As of gen 3 and later, it's determined a different way, and now, no, breeding with a shiny doesn't change shiny rates. The only thing that impacts shiny rates from eggs are the shiny charm you get for completing the dex, and the masuda method - which is breeding with two Pokemon from different language versions, which is why so many people want Ditto from other language versions.

You know that mountain? I decided to climb it thinking the third gym is up there. I was encountering mons in the mid 30s thinking the ice type leader was just about the same. Boy was I wrong when I've taken my first defeat from his mid 40's team.
It also didn't help that Nemona was using mid 20s mons and misleading me thinking the gym battle would be a cakewalk.

There should have been a selection of pastdox and robodox in both games - the fact both are there and possibly have been for a long time enhances the paradoxical nature - having only one or the other weakens the concept. There also should have been a variety of regular "past" pokemon, creatures like sigilyph, yanmega, fossilmons, etc etc.

Not really. My starter was about level 37-38 and the rest of the team not far behind. The mons at the base of the mountains were 34ish so I was expecting the gym leader to be the same. I didn't start seeing level 40 mons until after I got beat.

You can use vitamins and feathers all the way up to 252. But honestly that's not worth it. Go to the delibird store and get those power items. When holding them, your pokémon gets 9 EVs in the stat corresponding to the item if you kill the right pokémon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ulcxrXjjcc

Sadly not. Autobattle gives you half the exp and zero EVs. But still, you can stomp some mareeps and smolivs very early on for SpA. Same for deerlings and birds for Spe.

Thanks, but I was a bit miffed when I realized Lurantis was grass type and not bug after evolving it. It's dex entry said it masquerades as a bug, so I decided to keep it on that basis alone.
