>>52422652I hope not. Things with Screech/Metal Sound and/or Belly Drum will always be meta. Flutter Mane is made of paper on the Def side, and even though it has good SpD it has shit HP. It gets Nasty Plot, so maybe if it's paired with a Metal Sound user it could work, but if you're planning on just being with randoms, going full out with def/SpD lowering so the whole team benefits or Belly Drum so you don't waste three turns powering only yourself up will always be more useful. Plus Gholdengo is more useful bc of both Nasty Plot AND Metal Sound, better bulk, and Recover.
Even something like Espathra is more useful than Flutter Mane since its primary attack functions as Metal Sound and it can copy boosts the enemy uses as well as use Roost. It's important to boost, debuff, and stay alive. Flutter Mane can only do one of those things. Again, it probably has a place in a dedicated 4-person team, but with 3 random people it's just gonna die over and over and even if it doesn't its buffs are gone as soon as the enemy shields, which of course it will unless Flutter somehow gets the support to OHKO, which it usually won't.
