>>52422485If there's one thing I will agree with you it's that Kalos is a gorgeous region. I wish we had more of it to see in the game though. Greninja is a decent Ace, but I hate the Bond thing they did with him. Which is hilarious since they seemed to retcon that as well.
My biggest issue tends to fall into how the anime treats female characters. Serena in the game had much stronger motivations, she was an equal to you as a rival and had her frustrations with losing to you repeatedly. Even with the power of mega-evolution, she can't compete with you and that hurts more for me. We have so many female protags that get stereotypically feminine interests compared to the male co--protags. Brock is a Gym Leader and wants to be a Pokemon Breeder/Doctor, Tracy likes to sketch Pokemon and assists Professor Oak, Cilan is a Pokemon Gym Leader and chef, Goh wants to catch all the Pokemon in the world and Mew.
That said, we do have Misty who is another Gym Leader, and Iris who both aspires to be a Gym Leader and even becomes Unova's Champion, but most of the others pick rather stereotypical feminine goals. I still remember that one article where they talked about the female co-protags just being eye candy for male viewers and changing them up so no one gets bored. Which disgusted me beyond words.
