if all you want to do is copy the pokemon style, the best way to do that is to pull up pictures of pokemon and copy them exactly. you'll learn to draw fakemon in the pokemon "style" by copying references.
if you want to become a talented, well rounded artist, starting with drawing pokemon is the last thing you should do. a "good" artist starts with fundamentals, learning about things like values, lighting, and composition. If your goal is not to become a "good" artist, if you ONLY want to draw pokemon, then dont worry about this,
I searched a random pokemon I had never drawn before and spent ten minutes copying it's image exactly, then spent ten minutes drawing a "realistic" wrestling boar, then spent ten minutes drawing my personal interpretation of a wrestling pig from my own imagination. Drawing in different styles comes from practicing many different things- if you're only interested in one style, then that's all you should worry about
