>>52436869The mecha-godzillas will continue until one of them is actually good. Aggron is cursed with rock/steel, Mega-aggron has to use up a megaslot & has no item, plus has to come in as regular aggron who is terrible. Duralodon is just kind of bad, and iron thorns is the result of gamefreak looking at everything that made tyranitar good and just throwing it into the dumpster. If thorns had been dark/steel, dark/electric, or even steel/electric, it would have probably been great. But rock/electric is just a terrible type combination and it didn't even have the decency to be able to set a field effect. The only thing it has over tyranitar is being better at ddance sets since it has a higher base speed and can hold booster energy to jack up its attack even higher. But I would still rather just run TTar for the far better special defense and an ability that can offer team-synergy and doesn't rely on using up a held item or hoping something else sets a field effect.
All that being said, yeah iron thorns looks pretty cool and I'm excited for when it gets more fanart.
>>52437523i mean, godzilla is on a whole different order of magnitude compared to most pokemon. If you want to go by anime rules where pokemon like groudon are gigantic then maybe it would be an even match between him and one of the weaker instances of godzilla, but godzilla stomps all non-legendary pokemon easily.
if you meant to say tyranitar, then yeah ttar and bax still win because earthquake just annihilates iron thorns and still does good damage to duraludon.
