I trained a raltz from level piss nothing into a gallade before getting to the like 3rd gym or something, all my stuff was level 20 or so and i ended up taking out a level 37 toxtricity in that south-western cave and since he was actually used in the fight he get fat xp, gave him the final boost to level to kirilia and then I slapped him round the face with a dawnstone and bam. Sharpness, black belt, sword dance, sacred blade, fella took me places. Got a Scizor later that turned out to be a genetic freak IV wise [found out with the judge feature after finishing the main story] and he basically did the other half of the carrying, though special thanks to my Golduck for being a real pinch-hitter.
I've done basically everything now, got the game about a week ago, some 65ish hours in now I think. I just tried to catch the
second miraidon but uh, gallade oneshot it, so now apparently I have to wait a day for it to show up again?
