Because that just illogical, Fairy type Pokemon are almost exclusively Female, so a Male Trainer who has a bunch of Fairy Pokemon on his team basically has a Harem of Female Pokemon who will do his bidding and take care of him emotionally and physicall.
Besides Fairy type are based on Fantasy themes and Fantasy themes are known to be quite Flamboyant which results in Females being overly Cute or Beautiful(which is what the Fairy type Female Trainers are) and Males being overly Charming or Handsome(which is what the Fairy type Male Trainers are, in Japan's logic, Ortega and Bede are manly), but every time the story is usually the Beautiful Girl is rescued by the Handsome Guy, so not matter how Flamboyant the themes are the stories isn't ever gay.
What I'm trying to say is Flamboyant doesn't equal Gay, actually it's a Chick Magnet cause Girls love that stuff just like how Male Birds are colorful to attract Girl Birds.
Like in Pokemon Female Fairy type Trainers are Cute or Beautiful
If you want to call a Typing stereotypically Gay look at the almost exclusively Male typing which is the Fighting type.
