i would argue that a shiny shadow dunsparce from colosseum would be significantly harder to obtain and thus more rare than a GSC one.

good question, unfortunately i dont know an answer to it currently, maybe by having it be level 4? im pretty sure in gen II all eggs hatch at level 5, so youd need to transfer a level 4 shiny in dark cave

Wrong, it needs to be from a Gen 3 title. GSC have enough things to fuck around with the rate to make it way too easy. Gen 3 has zero modifiers at all, even Gen 4 has Masuda Method and bugs, and Gen 5 has the slightly improved Masuda Method and Shiny Charm in B2W2. Furthermore, we don't know if all imported Dunsparce default or one kind or another yet, since Home hasn't been updated has it?

but in the gen 2 games finding a dunsparce at all is a 1% chance in dark cave, in gen 3 you can just hunt for one on three port island with the 100% encounter rate

If we're talking the rarest encounter rate as well, then yeah probably the Colosseum one. You can't even tell it's shiny until you catch it though, and it is a fixed encounter, so rarest is probably relative.

Correct. Normally, all Dunsparce in Dark Cave are found at level 4, but during a swarm, they can be found as low as level 2.
The problem is that Dunsparce needs to know Hyper Drill to evolve, which can be learned at level 32, so unless there is a way to teach a level up move to a Pokémon below the intended level in SV, it'd be impossible to differentiate between one that was caught or one that was bred.

Not really. It was piss easy to get shinies in GSC you can just catch a bunch of them and then transfer them to SV. Or even easier, breed Dunsparce with Red Gyarados for 1/40 chance shiny dunsparce. Breed 100 shiny dunsparce and then one of them are bound to evolve into long snake.

Colosseum is virtually impossible to RNG manip on a retail version you dipshit. Human reaction timing isn't capable of doing it, so you'd have to resort to emulation and there's no way to move it up to HOME at that point while keeping it legitimate.

Actually there are emulators like Melonds that can connect to the fan-run servers, so it's entirely possible to transfer up through emulators if you use Melonds to trade it to a physical game. I don't think it'll be possible after Pokemon Bank is killed next year though.

The odds of finding a phony in glimwood tangle were 10%. The odds of finding a authentic were 1%. 1/11 sinistea were authentic but you only had a 1% chance of finding one on a given wild encounter. Getting it from a raid in the dlc was easier.
