Twittertroons (JNiggers and SMaggots mostly) also hate it for some reason.
/vp/ hates it because it's related to Ash. if it was a bit more like pic related or just called Mega Greninja/(You)-Greninja/ or just Bonded Greninja, no one would mind.

Honestly the design is good (the Fuma shuriken is fantastic)

From what I heard, the Battle Bond ability greninja is still in SV's code, but the Ash-Greninja 3d model isn't.
So the ability activates, but greninja doesn't change forms.

He got the Ash form because the director wanted a bond between Ash and Greninja and Gamefreak came up with the design. It just helped its popularity

I'm genuinely still baffled at how much effort they put into burying Greninja.
Shouldn't they be happy that they actually got another shillmon? What do they even gain from doing this? People who like Greninja aren't gonna start buying Charizard, Lucario or Pikachu just because Greninja is not there anymore, no, they will just not buy anything, because they want to buy Greninja.
They went and completely killed a new source of revenue, but why?
No matter how I twist it I don't get it.

You see, during the Alain Eleven, it gone a bit like Porygon. Suits got threatened by fans (deserved it) and some of the anime staff complained and left as well.
So, they made Greninja into the scapegoat.
