Why did they decide to completely devalue shinies in SV? Hunting shinies is no fun when you can get one literally every 10-20 minutes.

It was my main source of endgame enjoyment. Now it feels fucking pointless, and I can put the game away, because encountering these shinies just hits differently when they're not even rare or special anymore - you feel nothing.

I'm aware of that, and it was a good thing at first. I wasn't going to sit down and autistically grind for 8 hours per day, it was a fun little side activity to spend 2-3 hours on, with a reasonable chance of getting something in return, but now they completely jumped the shark.

Shiny hunters are autism incarnate I spent a month sr for a shiny shaymin in bdsp and guess what I didn't feel joy or anything I felt fucking anguish that this grueling stupid task was over and I haven't picked up the game since Jan 2nd this year

It's based, actually. Shinies have been devalued snice they cut the odds in half and shiny "hunting" is fucking cringe since you're just rolling a slot machine tilly you get a pallet swap. No, it's far better if shinies are so common that getting them the gender you want in the Pokeball you want is what matters, not spending literally months resetting/hunting for a faux sense of accomplishment.

If you find the "value" of shinies degrading, then hunt in the older games. I think it's perfectly reasonable to heighten the odds so that anyone has a good chance to find a sparkly creature with a swapped colour palette.

What are the odds of shiny charm/outbreak at 60+ versus shiny charm/sparkling power? If theyre the same then I probably wont use sparkling power for outbreaks because sparkling power/shiny charm without an outbreak for paradox mons was super easy

but you don't even need a level 3 encounter, and you don't need sparkling at all. Just make a level 2 rock encounter sandwich and go somewhere where Rockruff is the only rock type that will spawn, then either picnic purge or lap a path around the area.

With the shiny charm, you get a shiny in 20 mins tops with a 60+ chain going. Never worth it to waste a sandwich on one, save those up for pokemon that are either rare in outbreaks or paradox mons.

All they had to do was keep the little sparkle and jingle that plays In PLA when a shiny shows up nearby. Audio and visual cues like that are just immensely satisfying.

I haven't found a single shiny yet in SV and I know I've definitely just missed a couple because I had already found many in PLA with much less playtime because I always knew they were around because of the noise.
