What's there to apologize for? They outright said there'd be multiple patches to try and help fix problems with the game and they just released the first.

If you have an 8 hour job then you can complete the story in less than 1 week. I've been on holidays, so can be completed in 2 or 3 days. Not even counting on leaked copies.
Also does not excuse the fact the game is broken. When you pay for something you expect it to work well. Or did you also buy a car/appliances that chokes half the time for full price?

The update fixed the performance for me, it runs a hell of a lot better than it used to, but there's even more pop in now, like an insane amount.

This. SV is the most clearly unfinished Pokémon game ever released. Literal debug assets just sitting around uncovered, unremoved. Clearly zero QA was done. Even a typical Beta version is more complete than SV. This should’ve been a November 2023 release.

Did they even fix those in the update?
Another thing is that you can battle pokémon inside walls, with the first being the lighthouse. You can even see pokémon inside it through the windows like if it's just the walls and no interior.

No one asked for it, that's why we complain. This didn't happen when patching games wasn't a thing. Sure, there were bugs here and there, but you had to go out of your way to encounter them for the most part or they happened in a specific spot, not through the whole game.
There were moments I was enjoying myself going around the map, but each time it slowed down, every 3 to 5 seconds and I saw shit appear right in front of me, it stopped being enjoyable.
