Yes I hate it. It looks like some glitched model/sci-fi chimera that doesn't make sense.
Making a "just gets bigger" Dunsparce would've been so much better.
I hope in the future we get some alternate form that does Dunsparce justice because it's a cool Pokemon.

No it’s perfect. It both doesn’t overcomplicate and ruin the original design like most cross Gen evos while also playing in perfectly to the meta concept of its design. One of the problems with you as an adult playing Pokémon is you can’t remove yourself from the need to Min Max everything about life. It’s why you get angry about not loving every single design and feel like something has been stolen from you. When the entire point is just to fill the world with interesting varied creatures that will naturally appeal in different ways to different people. Dunsparce wasn’t meant to be a badass pseudo legendary skull fucker. He’s a fun addition to a world of over 1000 creatures. He’s not for you

I seriously don't understand it either. I love Gimmighoul's concept but Gholdengo being a surfer just feels like it comes entirely out of left field.

To me, it feels like this thing was intended to be a separate Pokemon entirely that got shoehorned into being an evolution for Gimmighul at the last second. It's just too thematically different, with the only real connection being the gold color.
