battle difficulty is reasonably hard but some fights are way harder than they should be due to fields, like in Reborn
>storycould be good if the game didn't have you go through entirely different plots - it feels like chapters 3, 9, 11, and some parts of 15 have fuck-all to do with the game's storyline. it also feels odd that team xen (the main antagonists) somehow don't do any onscreen evil things in chapters 10-14, if they're even present at all
note: chapter 15 is a clusterfuck both story-wise (trying to cram WAY too many different things between the 14th and 15th badge, in a linear order) and gameplay-wise (every major fight is either extremely difficult, or laughably easy, and the puzzles are obnoxious) because Jan decided to stop focusing on gameplay because muh development priorities shift
but for the first 14 chapters it's really good by fangame standards (note: sturgeon's law applies)
