>>52477570Literally me except I don’t give a shit what people do or comment on it. I am willing to skip the trouble of farming my own Ditto twice (I get a physical and special attacker nature Ditto each gen) so I can skip to the work of breeding and hatching and EV training. If nobody else was using perfect Dittos, I wouldn’t either but when 80% of EN players are cheaters, I’d just be throwing matches if I didn’t have my own perfect ones. Now that you just buy bottlecaps and have mints, most of this work is irrelevant and this is all a moot point anyway, I guess, but it’s how I’ve been doing it for 5 generations.
What I have never done is mouthed off or seethed about it. It’s just how it is. If it were up to me, everyone would just use rental teams in official events and be automatically on the same footing. This shit all reminds me of tabletop wargaming, where some people just netdeck what they think is a winning army and buy exactly that and don’t even know the backstory of what any of it is. Captain Hardass of the 3rd Bussy Legion, who lost his wife in the Great Fap of 3017 and is driven by hatred, is just a set of numbers and his lovingly sculpted model is just a pog. Other people write their own backgrounds for their guys and spend months masterfully painting every detail to make their army a real entity they immerse themselves into rather than a mere numerical exercise.
I’ll pick the latter person every time and similarly I’d rather have Pokemon trainers who carefully raised their team from hatchlings and have their parents kept on a ranch and trained the champs by fighting appropriate wild Pokemon for each stat.
But in the end I just play with people who aren’t gonna whine about it either way and are chill.
