Both of them are huge leaps forward for the franchise and easily the best of the 3D games
PLA is probably a better experience but it's not a full fleshed-out mainline game, a few cool new forms and evolutions can't compete with 100+ new Pokémon

Actually they are huge leaps backwards as all games after HGSS have been. HGSS was the absolute peak of the franchise.

I should pick up arceus sometime when it's on sale...violet has been the first traditional pokemon game I've played since sun/moon. the performance issues really are glaring.

XY's biggest strength is the variety of Pokémon available and SV also gives you that with twice as many new ones

arceus has better catching, graphics, liveliness of the pokemons in the wild, alphas and clothes. SV has better textures (in some areas), no piss filter, more pokemons, better newer pokemons, better open world even if its shitty on 60% of the places.
I prefer sv based on having more pokemons alone

When i played PLA it was a really fun time. I enojoyed the game a lot, it just felt short but good. Scarlet and violet is pokemon but gay and laggy, i will just breed eggs like a retard and feel like i want to play something else.

I'd probably go with SV. Koraidon alone being a combination of all of the ride mon in arceus just makes it so much easier to traverse the land without constantly having to swap between them.

Difficult to say.
I really really enjoyed how story driven SV is.
But man, Arceus made gameplay so much fun. Getting pokemon was actually fun and interacting with them was also really exciting unlike picnics.

Im gonna say Arceus, becuase it was so much moves in the right direction that made the experience truly enjoyable.
I know I started saying "difficult to say" but honestly that was kind of a lie since Arceus is my favorite pokemon game since Jotho
