Problem is that a lot of fanartists were zodiacfags trying to fit Fuecoco into their pattern. A snake-like quetzalcoatl dragon was a popular idea for this reason. You'll barely find any speculative evolutions that just keep Fuecoco as a crocodile.
The musical motif, I can't explain. Really does seem to just come out of nowhere. The bird is obviously a reference to Egyptian crocodiles but the microphone thing is bizarre.
