As by that point, the devs will have most of the tools they need to transport pokemon (rigs, textures, meshes, particle effects, etc, animations) and movesets over, they would just need to work modeling the world. If the sales keep climbing up, and passing even 24.27 million for Sword/Shield, they will probably make the next pokemon game, sidegame or mainline, be also open world.
