By comparison, Lopunny was a rather weak normal type, a plush rabbit that just so happened to become humanoid and feminine (but still furry) upon evolution and only evolved once via friendship; lucario in the same gen was a lot more successful despite being the similar in many ways, because it had a unique typing and actual good stats and movepool for the time, plus people still playing pokemon took its cool/badass vibe to heart. Lopunny, even if you didn't want to fuck it, was at best cutesy and not cool. It's basically a glorified delcatty.

No lie, while I don't like Lopunny much, I can only respect those who pick her.
I tried to have fun with a Buneary, but it was so shit... I just forgot about her until I got Luxury balls and Friendship boosters.
Get Lopunny, back to the box.

I respect those who pick her because my brother pulled a 1 mon playthrough, and his Lopunny was lv 100, the rest were HM slaves (insert Bibarel here)

Buneary starts with 0 Friendship and has Frustration as a move in its lower catching levels in DPPt iirc so a fresh Buneary's a pain to evolve but it absolutely destroys for a good while
